The black color is made-up to represent the people of the country, the red bands for bloodshed in the brawl for independence of African states and the green characterizes vegetation of Malawi. The theme of the rising sun prompts hope after realizing independence, but also the meaning of word Malawi - an effect which happens over the Lake Nyasa at sunset. The flag was enthused by the flag of the Malawi Congress Party.
