The “Fiesta Flag,” as it was dubbed, first began flapping in 1931. Designed by Roy E. Silent and E.S. Jones for LA’s sesquicentennial, its name comes from the 1931 revival of La Fiesta, an annual cultural fest from the late 1800s.

Kick off LGBTQ Pride Month with our annual flag raising ceremony, which will feature live performances, dynamic speakers, music, and an appearance from Mayor Kenney. Following the flag raising, we’ll head over to LOVE Park for Pride in the Park.
