I know these flags are supposed to mean pride, but for me, identity and/or orientation are not a reason to pride nor shame, I am who I am, it's a part of me and I really don't need to brag about it or announce it to the whole world. Not like anyone cares anyway lol.

As for the original question, are the two flags too similar? Yes. I think there is potential for confusion. However, I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone waving a gynephilia flag in real life.

This is exactly why I love the design of the Japanese flag. It's a simple red dot in the middle of a white background. The red dot represents the rising sun, which is a large part of Japan's culture. The flag is easy to memorize, easy to draw, and easy for us to ascertain its symbolism. No stripes needed.

I really don't like the colours of the intersex flag, but at least it's unique, simple, identifiable at a distance, and could be drawn by a 4 year old... All the good markings of a good flag design. If people are creating new labels, and new flags to go alongside it. Buck the trend. Be like the intersex or demisexual flag designs. Dare to be different. Make the flag look good. (But please don't ruin the flag with awful shades of a colour *stares at the green on the agender flag*)

Eh I don't necessarily think we all need our own flag (agreeing with people above). The ace flag is really cool and has a great aesthetic, plus it was voted on by the community, and I think might be the only one to have been voted into practice. So we shouldn't change ours, if they want to change the gynephilia then sure, but I don't think it's needed.

Sometimes when seeing the flags on cycling results, I get a binge of excitement, then I realise that the red in Italy is just a bit off colour and it is not Pilib O'Ganna but Fillippo Ganna

(Before anyone thinks I'm anti-label, I'm not. I'm gradually coming around to seeing their value too. Language, and that includes labels, aids communication and understanding. Yes, I sometimes think there are too many labels and sometimes they feel self-indulgent, but overall having labels is a good thing.)

At the very least, they could swap it up and go vertical. Most pride flag stripes are horizontal, but they could easily swap it up and go vertical if they want similar colours.

There are already over 50 different flags for sexual orientations and it becomes even more. One problem is that flags are often created historically (e.g. gold in the German flag because of the golden buttons of the soldiers around 1800). There is a story behind it that is unique and connects people. It does not work that everyone simply unpacks their drawing pad and just paints their own flag. Especially since everyone can define their own characteristics and therefore theoretically every single person could create their own flag for their own identity. But what gives a flag meaning is not that you just thought hmm which colours would look best and then I will take that, but that its design is deeply connected to its history.

A lot of flags are similar, but I've noticed that the orientations and genders, etc. that the similar flags represent tend to be closer in idea. Asexual and Gynephilia?? Not very close in concept. Lol.

And the stripes. Cannot people think of anything better? No, because stripes are and will remain just stripes. You will not find anything other than stripes because other shapes can have meaning as opposed to simple stripes. But flags designed on the drawing board cannot have any meaning.
