Bunting flags look best when hung from a porch railing, along the roofline, or under each window. Choose your spot wisely, as the surface will determine how you'll attach the bunting.
Once the July 4th holiday is over and you're ready take your American flag patriotic bunting down, prep it before you store it. First shake out the bunting fabric out to get rid of any debris, dirt or insects that might be hiding between the folds. Then check the fabric thoroughly for stains. Be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions on how to clean the bunting. Depending on the material, it may or may not be able to be dry cleaned. If not you can place it in a solution in a bucket, let it soak then hang to dry. Once the patriotic bunting is clean, you can iron the fabric to reshape the pleats, then place it on a hanger and put in a clothing bag. Make sure the room the patriotic bunting is stored in is dry and climate-controlled.

Measure the length of the spot you want your bunting to hang. Then measure and trim the amount of bunting fabric you need, cutting away any excess fabric along the scalloped edge. Finish the edge by serging it or sewing a row of stay stitching. If you don't want to use a continuous piece of bunting fabric for this project, you can also purchase individual printed cotton fan flags and hang each piece next to each other to get the same look.
