While there have been some adjustments, the Texans aren't making drastic changes to the well-liked "Battle Red" alternate uniforms. Similar to other jerseys, the sleeve stripe forms a bullhorn-inspired design, with H-Town on the inside collar. The helmet is where the most notable changes occurred, with candy paint red flakes being added to the Battle Red color. There's also a new bullhorn-inspired design as the primary logo on the side, with the traditional logo on the back.

Described as a "traditional design with a modern edge," the sleeve stripe on the back and sides creates what is intended to display a "bullhorn-inspired" design from the front of the jersey. Like the home uniforms, these have "H-Town" on the collar and will be worn with the same helmet.

The Houston Texans revealed their newly redesigned uniforms for the 2024 season this week, though a series of leaks in the days prior somewhat killed the element of surprise. Still, the story behind the details wasn't clear until Tuesday.

Houston unveiled four new uniform and helmet combinations on social media Tuesday morning, with accompanying explanations on the team website.

Per HoustonTexans.com, the home uniform features an updated Deep Steel Blue color to match the original that was unveiled in 2000, with "H-Town" inscribed on the inside collar in addition to a Texas flag-inspired draped collar. The helmet will be Deep Steel Blue, with the new secondary "H" logo on the back accompanying the traditional bull logo on each side.

The Texans' Color Rush uniforms will feature H-Town Blue as an accent color, outlining the jersey numbers and "H-Town" inscription across the chest, with the "H" logo also appearing on the back of the uniform. The helmet is described as "candy-paint inspired Deep Steel Blue" with "Battle Red flake," and the "H" logo is featured prominently on the sides with a traditional logo included at the helmet base. This marks the first new secondary logo to be introduced on a helmet in NFL history, per the team.

The new "H" alternate logo is one of the most anticipated aspects of the uniform reveal, which is understandable as it incorporates "H-Town Blue" as an official accent color. The "H" logo is primarily H-Town Blue, which is perhaps best known for its usage by the Houston Oilers, but has a history in the city dating back over 100 years. The "H" is written in Blackletter, which was the top fan-selected font style from over 300 designs, per the team. It also incorporates bullhorns and a star, which is the bull's eye on the primary logo.
