DENVER - Today, as directed by President Biden, Governor Polis ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in remembrance of the brave Americans of the September 11 attacks who portrayed extraordinary acts of courage and sacrifice.

The memorial has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 21 and flags are to be lowered that day from sunrise to sunset on all public buildings statewide.

Rusk died while off-duty on Aug. 24. However, since it was less than 24 hours since his last shift, it is considered a line-of-duty death. Rusk served the Arkansas City Fire Department since June 5, 2023.

Adams County is pleased to announce the appointment of David Fraser as the Interim County Manager. Michael began his career in March 1994 as a Deputy Sheriff in the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and retired in May 2013. He then returned to work for Adams County in October 2014 as a part-time Investigations Assistant for the District Attorney’s Office and continues to serve in this role today.
