HARTFORD, Conn — Gov. Ned Lamont directed Thursday afternoon the U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Connecticut State Police Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier, who was killed while he was on duty and struck by a motor vehicle while on a traffic stop on I-84 in Southington.

In a press release, the governor's office said that the flags shall remain lowered until sunset on the day of the funeral, which has not yet been determined.
