April 7, 2021 to April 8, 2021: In honor of Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings, who passed away on April 6, 2021, Utah Gov. Spencer J. Cox has authorized the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the state of Utah on all state facilities. This order is pursuant to the requirement that flags be lowered upon the death of a sitting member of Congress, and therefore extends President Joe Biden’s previous order.

The Township of Montville also maintains flagpoles at various Township facilities.  At all these facilities, the American flag shall be flown in accordance with this policy and the U.S. flag code and shall always occupy a position of prominence.
