Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff to coincide with Governor Jay Inslee’s directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered on Sunday, Sept. 15, in remembrance of former Representative Dennis Flannigan.

“Representative Flannigan served 8 years as a Washington State Representative,” Mayor Brown said. “I encourage anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join us in this recognition to honor his memory.”

Representative Flannigan passed away on July 10, 2024. A memorial service will occur on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 3 p.m. at Urban Grace Church in Tacoma.
